Are you currently missing a tooth and are less than confident about your smile? Many things can cause tooth loss, including tooth decay, gum disease, injury or trauma, smoking, along with age. At Creekside Dental, our dentists, Dr. Bennett Packard and Dr. David Packard, are pleased to offer restorative dentistry for our patients with missing teeth–whether it is one or several.
Our restorative dental options for our patients include dental bridges, crowns, dentures–both complete and partials–to restore a natural looking smile. So let’s take a look at some of the options available to replace missing teeth!
Dental Implants: These are the most natural-looking replacements for lost teeth. They are stable, last longer than other options, and keep the jawbone under the missing tooth stable so that it doesn’t deteriorate, maintaining facial structure.
Dental Bridge: A traditional bridge is made by creating a crown for the teeth on either side of the space and placing a false tooth or teeth between the crowns. The crowns, sometimes called caps, can be supported by natural teeth or by implants. The false tooth or teeth are attached to the crowns and fill the empty space.
Partial Dentures: A partial denture is used if you are missing multiple teeth but have remaining natural teeth. A partial denture often includes a thin framework or clasps that attach to the natural teeth for a secure fit.
Complete Denture: A complete denture is used to replace all of the teeth in a full dental arch. We may suggest a complete denture to replace all of the teeth in both arches or just one, depending on your individual needs. Our dentists may suggest using a denture adhesive for improved stability.
